suede & lyocell

Posted by Unknown On 21:27 0 comments
When I've had a bad day at work, I tend to try and make myself feel better on the way back home through Brixton by stopping off in H&M and trying things on - it only makes me happy until I realise I haven't got a single penny to spend on myself these days... being a grown up in London SUCKS by the way!

I'm loving the suede imitation shorts they have in at the moment, a ridiculous bargain at £7.99 - I thought about picking them up for my holiday to Costa Blanca this weekend but I think I'm well over my kg limit already.. Definitely worth heading back for after payday though!

I'm a massive fan of H&M and I always have been, I spent 4 years of my life working/growing up there so it's safe to say a small piece of my heart still lives on; their conscious collection always manages to come up trumps and this season I spotted the lyocell shirt, despite its baggy nature not complimenting my figure at all I fell in love with its all good natural fibre being. Lastly I spotted these white leather trainers for £49.99 (when I flipped the tag to see the price, the instant doom of no more staff discount hit me *cries!*)

Do you like any of the pieces I picked up?

double denim

Posted by Unknown On 10:00 0 comments
Denim is absolutely everywhere right now. To be fair it always has been, but now we're noticing it more than ever. With the Seventies trend in full swing this season it's time to do denim or don't, and I most definitely am 'doing'. There isn't an outfit I feel safer in that a pair of trusty Levi skinnies and an vintage mens shirt. It's the right amount of casual and still looks cool. Amirite?

To break up the double blue hue I added my statement Boohoo brogues, both comfortable to wear and on trend for a stand-outish double denim look that can never be described as boring. A fedora is something I want to wear more often, there's something so chic about it and it transforms any summer look. Yet, there is something about hoping onto the bus to Elephant and Castle at 8am on my way to work doesn't quite understand it! Which is why it's my headwear of choice at the weekend on a day like today, I'm off to Westfields with the boyfriend. Shopping a la hat. Note to self: make friends with the iron.

Things I’m pining this week. #1

Posted by Unknown On 00:43 0 comments

Lately I’ve been feeling as if all the creative veins in my body have been sucked out. Despite being on social media all day long, the only platform I’ve found to be a source of inhaling that creativity back in is Pinterest. And right now it’s totally relatable. Welcome to my weekly addition of 'Things I'm Pining This Week' - a moodboard full of things I've pinned that I'm currently pining for.

1. The gorgeous, Vanessa Ferlito, she popped up on my feed shortly after I watched Death Proof. Which was so so weird. For those that haven’t heard of it, it’s a Tarantino. Go figure, watch it – it’s on Netflix!
2. All I seem to be wearing at the moment is black turtlenecks. I can’t stop. Black black black and more. I’m starting to worry what I’ll be wearing in a months time, when it starts getting hot. Help?
3. Omelettes are becoming my go-to most mornings. I’ve mastered the art of egg, cheese and mushroom omelette (so skilled, I know) and now I can’t stop eating it! Especially with avocado. Seriously, try it.
4. Costa blanca. aka the first holiday I’m going to have in 10 years. TEN YEARS! I jet off in 16 days and I fully can’t even wait. It’s going to be so good. I’ve mentally booked my next holiday before I’ve even started this one.
5. Je suis plus amoureux que jamais. Je ai lui merci. Soppy.
6. Forever umming and arring about the chop! I know I’ll regret it, I ALWAYS do. But there are so many good looking people with bobs on Pinterest these days that I just can’t help pining for, and pinning.
Who do you follow on Pinterest?

Any person with an interest in fashion knows that Alexa Chung IS fashion in human form and anything she does is right, just so right. The all round babe has just recently designed a collection in collaboration with American denim brand AG Jeans. I hadn't heard of them before, but now I want to know them... So I clicked right to it and of course, the price range is totally, completely, 100% out of my budget right now(and for the foreseeable future) as who in the right mind pays ($180 btw) that much for a denim skirt!!?

Anyway, if I had the money, I definitely would, don't get me wrong but... I don't. So as soon as I saw the collection I fast-tracked to my favourite e-tailer ASOS to find a suitable alternative that I knew wouldn't break the bank. And here we have it, ASOS own brand denim button through skirt. A fraction of the price (£28) and is a perfect match! Hurrah, sold. Any other bloggers found alternatives to the collection yet? I'm a fan of the dress (pictured) but left my purse with the $325 in my other bag...

If you've been living under a rock for the past week or generally just want to know more about the collection I've taken the liberty of finding the article that describes it best below...

Happy New Year!

Jumping on the 2015 bandwagon a little delayed but hey ho. I'm back to my roots, or should I say ends when I'm talking about my hair. What can I say, I got bored over the holidays and there was an unopened box of dye in my desk that needed to be gone (as I was moving the last of my stuff out to London last weekend!) so I took the plunge and dip dyed/ombre my hair, for the forth? time.

I have to say I like it alot more now than I did before, I think it's because my hair is considerably longer so it falls nicer than on bobbed hair. It's a real ginger in this photo, but it's definitely not that bright in real life. I found myself lusting over fair haired models because this (h)elfie got me thinking, how would I look with this colour all over?!

Here's a couple of my fave fiery redheads from Pinterest.

Resolutions

2 week juicing cleanse.

I've never done one before but I got a juicer from my boyfriend for Christmas and I really want to try it out. I'm currently on day 3 of my cleanse and I must say, I'm not missing food that much. If I didn't love macdonalds so much I could definitely be vegan, just saying.

I was inspired by a documentary on Netflix called 'Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead' - a must see if you've got even the smallest want to try juicing. It was so inspiring, and here I am 3 days in! After piling on the Christmas pounds I was sure it would take me forever to work them all off but in the space of 3 days and 8 juices I've already lost 4lbs! It's bloody mental.

There are millions of juice recipes online that you can try out but I'm currently using this one and carrying it on for 2 weeks instead of 1. Im optimistic but, we shall see. I don't currently have a second, third or even forth new years resolution as I'm waiting to finish this cleanse before I decide. I figure if you make too many then you won't keep to them!

Is anyone else trying a juice cleanse this year?

new: finally got a coat

Posted by Unknown On 13:00 2 comments
I say finally, I bought this about two weeks ago from the H&M Regents Street in London after seeing it on Hannah's Instagram. (@hannahvazquez) I literally fell in love with it as soon as I saw it on, contrary to the years I spent working on H&M's shop floor as much as I despised some elements of working in retail after I left, I never fell out of love with the fashion and design Hennes & Mauritz do so well.

It's a wide bomber jacket in wool blend with concealed buttons to the front, the elasticated hem at the bottom is just the right length and it's not lined, so it's great for throwing on over chunky knit jumpers. It's £69.99 online and £79.99 in store, but luckily for me I had a Glamour magazine voucher that entitled me to 25% off one item and I returned something so it only cost £35. I've worn it everyday since and I can't wait to get a long faux fur monochrome scarf to wear over the top! What do you think of it? I would definitely recommend it to someone looking for a heavy throwover.

Ever since Burberry made bespoke personalised scarves for fashion celebrity icons such as Olivia Palmero, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Cara Delavigne and Sarah Jessica Parker - I've been lusting over the idea of one. Not so much that I would bust out the retail price for one, but definitely looking for alternatives. I came across a feature in Glamour magazine that nodded towards high street giant Matalan...

I haven't stepped foot into a Matalan for a good 10 years, the last time was probably to buy a bikini set when I was about 11 however, I am more than tempted to get this alphabet scarf!
Ok it's not an exact doppleganger for the Burberry one, but it still has that initial inspiration. For only £10, with all proceeds going to support Alder Hey Children's Hospital Charity it's definitely a gift worth investing in. Most of the letters have sold out, but there's promise of more stock coming early December. Thank me later for the heads up!

november edit

Posted by Unknown On 21:45 1 comments

Can you believe we're in November already? Halloween has been and died and the Christmas lights are already lit up on Oxford street! Cray cray.

Here's a little edit I put together featuring my go-to Autumn/November look. I've now got a collection of roll necks in various shades, from light grey through to grey and eventually dark grey (I'm not joking, I have at least 5 grey roll-necks now, obsessed) and practically live in my ASOS black skinnies day-in-day-out. I've tried and tested a very expensive wool coat from Topshop recently, however it didn't quite feel worth the amount I paid for it - so I've stuck to my trusty shearling biker jacket to keep me warm. The faux fur scarf, black satchel and loafers are all on my Christmas wishlist. My autumn/winter make up tends to stay nude, with deep red/brown nails being my fave colour this season!

Southampton was cloudy this weekend so of course I felt the need to pop into town and stock up on jumpers. Any excuse... I had seen this H&M skirt online and it's brown imitation leather won me over, also the fact it was only £7.99! It has an asymmetric hem which I love, and the brown has a seventies vibe which I'm really feeling this season! I also picked up this super-soft jumper in grey (it's actually blush here) I think the pink washes me out abit so went for the grey version. It's soooo soft!

dream flat

Posted by Unknown On 11:52 0 comments

Its pretty obvious that my dream flat expectations aren't going to get me a home in London just yet, I'm not settling for anything other than white interiors. Which is proving difficult for my move. I am constantly browsing Pinterest for decor inspiration before I've even found a place to live and unfortunately, none of the houses I have viewed in the last few weeks have been up to this standard. I've fallen for copper lighting, maximised storage options and wooden floors due to this inspiration search, I know that I'm definitely not going to find a flat within my budget that has a balcony like above, but I'll keep searching. If anyone is looking for a flat share in South London and has the same dream as me, I would love to hear from you!
