bargain beauty post

Posted by Unknown On 14:41
I'm a self confessed beauty amateur. I read beauty blogs and tutorials on youtube but I still can't bring myself to spend loads of money on hair and beauty products, I buy new make-up every 3 months when my usual stuff runs out, but I won't dare try anything new, even after reading blogs! I don't know what's wrong with me! I'd rather spend my last tenner on a top I don't need...

But yesterday, I popped into town after remembering a post of Zoeys about Poundland Morrocan oil and decided to go on a hunt myself, as all hair and beauty blogs rave about Morrocan argan oil doing wonders to their dry damaged hair. As I'm still rocking the dip die ombre ends (I know, get with the times!) my ends are so dry and it's really been getting me down, my mum is constantly telling me off for choosing Alberto Balsalm over any other shampoo and conditioner just because it's £1 in asda! I haven't been to the hairdressers in over a year aswell, too scared now!

But on my travels into Poundland I was so shocked at what I found...

(L-R)
Mellor and Russell Nourishing Hair Oil (with Argan Oil) - £1
Mellor and Russell Hair repair mask (with Argan Oil) - £1
Derma V10 rescue oil - £1 (similar here)
Systeme pro vitamin 2 in 1 voluminising spray - £1
Toni and Guy frizz smoothing shampoo - £1 (similar here)
Batiste original dry shampoo - £1

 01. Mellor and Russell 'Miracle Moisture' for all hair types Hair Repair Mask is a deep conditioner for soft and shiny hair with Argan Oil. I tried this mask in the shower today, it says use 3-5 minutes before rinsing but I didn't keep count, I'm pretty sure it was left on for about 4 minutes, but it seems to have worked a treat! My hair already feels smoother and shinier. Not bad for £1! It recommends usage 2 times a week, so I won't be overdoing it with this one, the size of the bottle is decent too so should last me a while!

02. Mellor and Russell 'Miracle Moisture' for all hair types Nourishing Hair Oil - styling oil to smooth frizz and add shine with Argan Oil. The consistency of this oil is very very greasy and as recommended on the bottle I started from the ends upwards, massaging a pea sized amount into my roots. Because the consistency is so thick and greasy it's made my roots look very oily, maybe I used too much product at once but as a first time use I won't be using it again with the mask, even though it says on the bottle to use them both together! Maybe trying it without the mask one day will work better.

03. Systeme pro-vitamin 2 in 1 volumising gel spray with conditioner for all hair types, alcohol free. This spray is such good value for money, £1 a 250ml bottle I can see this lasting a while, one small spray added volume to my roots instantly, and an hour on it's still in place! I've found with some volumising sprays they really don't hold at all, and I've got really thick hair so was very pleased with this one.

04. Batiste dry shampoo. clean and classic original. There is no faulting this kind of dry shampoo, anyone that uses dry shampoo goes straight for this brand. I love how the can fits nicely in my handbag too. 5 out of 5! Can't fault it. I was considering buying some from my local Boots on my lunch hour the other day, but now I know Poundland stock it I shall be stocking up there in future!

05. Toni & Guy frizz smoothing curl shampoo, rich cleansing for smooth curl and waves. 75ml. I couldn't believe my eyes when I noticed this shampoo bottle behind a stack of L'Oreal shampoos, Poundland obviously didn't want this one to be shown! I was a bit disappointed they didn't have a matching conditioner but for £1 you can't complain! I've yet to try it because I'm using my L'Oreal revive shampoo at the moment but when I do I'll sure to do a review :)

The Derma V10 rescue oil (forgot to take a picture) for an oil it's very light and this means low usage, I'm using it to cover my teenage scars and tiny stretch marks on my hips, unfortunately university has made me pile on 2 stone, and in the last 2 month's I lost 1 and a half, so my skin has stretched :( not happy about it! But hopefully using this oil will make a difference :)

Hope you enjoyed my first 'proper' hair beauty post! And maybe it will give you an excuse to pop into your local Poundland soon! ;) If you like my budgeting ways then don't hesitate to nominate me for 'Best Thrift Blog in the Comapany style blogger awards 2013. Thanks in advance!
